What Is Battery Service?

When you bring your vehicle in for service after having issues, the first thing we'll do is test your battery. We want to find out if it will hold a charge. Even if you were able to jump it to drive the vehicle here for service, it doesn't mean your battery is fine. When we test the battery, we can tell you how much life is left.

If your battery is fine, we'll look at other issues. Even if your battery needs to be replaced, we'll check other components of the starter system. When an alternator or other component fails, it can cause the battery to need to be replaced.

We also clean the battery terminals and cables to make sure the battery is getting a good connection to the starting system. We'll look for any damage to the wiring and see if it needs to be replaced. If the battery is the issue, we'll recommend replacement. Reasons a Car Won't Start

If your vehicle doesn't start, it's most likely some component of the starter system. The most common scenario is that your battery has been drained by some component. If you jump start your vehicle and have no other problems, your battery should be fine.

If you jump start the engine but need to do it the next time you want to go somewhere, your battery may be too old to hold a charge. Replacing the battery will take care of the issue.

If your battery isn't the problem, another component of the starting system may need to be replaced. We have access to diagnostic tools, which will tell us the component that's causing the issue.
